Hearing Aids

by Janice Combs

a boy that has just received a hearing aid!The hearing aids, for the deaf children in Central Asia, deadline is August 31, 2008!

"Come, go with me", He gently whispers. . . and together we journey to the deaf school in a dark and unkind land where there are more than 500 children imprisoned in a world of silence.

$100 will provide a complete hearing aid kit. So, make your donation in any amount to Southside Baptist Church and notate it "For Hearing Aids". You may also make your contribution online at http://starlingg.org

I am honored to be hands and feet as your generous hearts send me so all may hear. . .Saving Truth And Redeeming Love IN God's Grace.

Sharing The Good News

by Alan Pope

Bellaire is small town in Michigan. During the summer it swells with tourists from the cities down below. They come to the upper west portion of the state to vacation on the lakes, eat the ripe cherries, play golf, and enjoy the Bridge beside the churchbeautiful countryside. The First Baptist Church of Bellaire has a small building in the center of town astride a cool running stream of water. If you could step back a few years, a thriving congregation would be found, but the lack of pastoral leadership has seen their numbers dwindle.

Stepping Out in Faith

by Garry and Denise Johnson

Here we are again, stepping out by faith to go where God has called us. This time, both the field and the assigment are radically different than the last. But there is One who is unchanging, our Lord Jesus Christ, and He is faithful.

Rather than sending email newsletters as we did in East Asia, we will be providing regular (probably monthly) blog updates. Even though the security concerns are not as great here in Western Europe as they were there, we will still keep things on the blog site rather general but with enough detail that you should know how to pray for us. A recent picture of Joseph NuwayhidDuring Joseph's current round of intensive chemotherapy, his blood counts are higher than above normal. His blood counts should be dropping rather than rising. So, this has drawn a concern and has caused the Drs to scratch their heads as to why. More . . .
