The Good News

No missions website would be complete without sharing the Gospel - the Good News - of Jesus Christ.  After all, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself commissioned us to "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."  (Matthew 28:19-20)  Becoming His disciple is as straight-forward as A, B. C:

A

dmit ...
that you are a sinner.  The bible says we were all born that way:  "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."  (Romans 3:23)  However, we are still held to God's standard of perfection so our sin separates us from Him.  We cannot measure up to His standard and it is essential that we admit it.
B

elieve ...
that we cannot get to heaven on our own.  Therefore, if we are to enter into the kingdom of God, God must make a way - and His name is Jesus, God's Son.  "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."  (John 3:16)  We must believe that Jesus Christ lived a perfect, sinless life on our behalf and then died to pay for our sins.
C

onfess ...
our sins to God, through prayer, and our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord to others.  "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."  (Romans 20:9-10)  We must confess Jesus as Lord to become a Christian.

While the Gospel of Jesus Christ is clear and as straight-forward as A-B-C, salvation is the work of the Holy Spirit and cannot be controlled or manipulated by man.  You may have questions and would like to discuss the matter with a minister.  Or, you may have admitted your sin, believed that Jesus has saved you, and would like to confess it to a minister.  If so, you are encouraged to contact our church office (256 539-0621) or another evangelical church in your community.

Once you become a Christian, it is very important that you to be involved in an effective discipleship program and become assimilated into the fellowship of a bible-believing church.
