The Lost White Brother

by Raymond and Tuggy Dunton with Wings of Freedom Ministries

The Lost White Brother - known as "Pahana" (from pasu - salt water) is a central figure in Hopi Prophecy.

For centuries, on Third Mesa, in the Village of Old Oraibi - which is the oldest The Hopi Peoplecontinuously inhabited community in the United States - the Hopi People have awaited the arrival of Pahana. The Ancient Ones told of his coming and presenting the Hopi People with the "good news!" In the midst of the Winter Ceremonies (Wuwuchim, Soyala and Powamuya) the Bear Clan was responsible for preparing the People and the land in welcoming their Lost White Brother from the East, across the salt water (Atlantic Ocean). All the Hopi Clan Leaders greeted the Spaniards, as prescribed by the prophecy, where four lines of sacred corn meal were drawn. The Bear Clan Leader stepped up to the barrier and extended his hand, palm up, to the leader of the white men. The Hopi Leaders anticipated Pahana's response with his own hand extended, palm down, clasping the Bear Clan Leader's hand to form the "nakwach," the ancient symbol of brotherhood. However, as we read in our history books, the Europeans showed up in search of gold rather than fulfilling the great commission, which caused great sorrow for the Hopi People. They concluded that their Lost White Brother had forgotten all about them.

Although Pahana lost this tremendous opportunity, the Great Mystery has not forgotten the Hopi People or any other People on this planet. We are committed to making Disciples of all Nations and setting captives free, from the Four Corners of the U.S. to the Four Corners of the World!

As we serve throughout Indian Country during the month of February we will do a lot of traveling; therefore, we ask that you pray for our safety and for the stewardship the Creator God has entrusted to us.

We are extremely grateful for each of you who are faithfully committed to supporting WINGS of Freedom with your prayers and finances! "Kwakwha /Askwali" (Thank You).

Pressing on,

Raymond & Tuggy
