“He who watches the wind will not sow and he who
looks at the clouds will not reap” Solomon, 935 B.C.
A word to the wise from this ancient Elder regarding the danger of being overly cautious in light of nature’s unpredictability.
According to the lead story in the Rocky Mountain News, this sage advice could have saved a lot of money and major frustration. The headlines read "ARE WE WEATHER WIMPS?" 140 flights were cancelled at the Denver International Airport, local schools closed, some businesses told their employees to stay home, even the state legislature adjourned declaring a snow day. But the snow storm never came! Several television stations posted apologies on their web sites stating, "Meteorology is not a perfect science." (I think this is the only job on the planet you can perform with an 80% failure rate and still maintain job security… but that’s another story… lol! )
I believe we should be prudent and good stewards, "counting the cost" as we press forward in life; however, as people of faith we can become "fair-weather friends" in our faith-walk. Keeping our eyes on the Chief Cornerstone, the "author and completer of our faith" rather than on life’s distractions, would sure prevent us from becoming and living as "WIMPS." Hey – we’re more than conquerors!
As we continue to serve the Host People of this land in their Quest for Dignity, we are grateful for your commitment (and not wimping-out) to faithfully supporting our efforts with your prayers and finances. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your condolences and kind words of encouragement expressed towards our Kydz. They are doing well in grieving their loss. Your loving support is making a significant difference.
As I mentioned (see the April 16th update) they are totally connected at New Hope. Through the dynamic worship, practical teaching, intimate Bible study groups, and social activities, their needs are being met. They are establishing healthy relationships with individuals and couples who share common values and passions. They are very blessed.
The staff at the Poly-Trauma Center are doing everything they can to improve Joshua’s condition; however, there really isn’t anything new to share. At this time I ask that you would focus your attention and prayers on Joshua’s parents. His father, Jim, is hurting deeply. Joshua’s situation is taking its toll on Jim’s heart… "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life" Proverbs 13:12.

Joyfully,
Raymond & Tuggy
